Welcome

Zen Coeur Living embodies the alchemy of three: awareness, compassion, and connection. It soulfully blends each aspect of your true, innermost self and then radiates her outward to the world around you. It’s at the core of my approach as a mentor + coach.

Zen = mind, is the innermost work of self-awareness, ease, and presence.

Zen is a way of being. – Alan Watts

We use flourishing skills to increase optimism, decrease mind chatter, and boost satisfaction. Combining formal/informal mindfulness practices and drawing on the latest research in neuroscience research, we’ll reshape the brain in positive, life-enhancing ways.

Coeur = heart + body, is the internal work of self-compassion and self-discovery.

There is a quiet light in every heart. It is what illuminates our minds to see beauty, our desire to seek possibility, and our hearts to love life. – John O’Donohue

We explore the self through the lens of values and strengths; goal setting and meeting; and gratitude and loving kindness. We uncover your deepest desires with self-compassion and without judgment. Goals are aligned with our life vision to provide meaning.

Living = spirit + life, in which we bring the self into the world around us.

Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? – Marianne Williamson

We learn, strengthen, and grow as we cultivate resilience, curiosity, and creativity. We savor, find flow, and connect with our larger purpose and expand in connection with others.

What’s It Like to Work with Me?

Clients share their experiences:

“I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to work with Carol Meyers. I came to Carol wanting to start my own business but feeling stuck and overwhelmed with the steps I needed to take. With patience and compassion, Carol guided me forward and helped me break down big goals into small, meaningful action steps. I was very impressed with the wealth of practical skills and insights Carol had gleaned from her many years as a successful communications professional. She always seemed to know what I needed to do next and what resources to provide me with. What I take away more than that is how Carol always made me feel, seen, heard, validated. Carol is a tremendously warm and heartfelt person and this is very much reflected in her coaching style. Within six months of beginning to work with Carol, I had attained all of the goals I had initially set for myself. Her guidance and support were invaluable as I navigated through a major transition and came out blooming on the other side. If you could use some inspiration and support, coupled with intelligent tactics, give Carol a call.” NG

“Carol is genuine, caring, focused on your agenda, and respectful of your values. She does her utmost to coach, not lead. Through her mindfulness and yoga training, she has a way of helping a client connect on a deeper level. When I worked with Carol, I came away feeling empowered and accepted, and you will, too.” CO

Carol helps you get clear on your agenda, putting the coaching session on the right foot immediately. Her background in communications and art and her caring, holistic approach to life works to the benefit of her clients.” — RH

“My sessions with Carol have been invaluable. They helped provide the support and grounding I needed in my transition into motherhood. Carol’s ability to help clarify my priorities and shape my intentions, as well as the techniques and tools she introduced continue to be a part of my daily life. Thanks to Carol, I am able to prioritize and complete day-to-day tasks and larger projects more efficiently and with an approach of kindness and love to myself I was lacking as a new mom.”  MC

“I was laid off from a job I loved and wasn’t really sure what steps to take next. Carol helped me prioritize and move forward to secure a new position. Her warm, nurturing style was super comforting while her ability to hold me accountable kept me on track. I would definitely work with Carol again and recommend her services to anyone!” — KC

“Carol is very skilled at coaching, marketing, and other related skills. She is very supportive and positive, has a wonderful attitude and goes beyond her job description to ensure that you move forward in your chosen career. You couldn’t ask for a better coach. Take the plunge.” — KH

About Me

With a professional life of 20+ years divided into thirds in corporate America, NGOs, and independent consulting, I was depleted.

Does Life Have to Be Like This?

I navigated a successful career in communications and marketing, a generous salary, and a host of perks. I also faced breakneck deadlines, cut-throat competition, and a long commute. Sleepless nights met panic attacks on the way to work. Change and ambiguity were constants.

Does any of that sound familiar?

I felt alone and isolated. I longed for a path to a better way of life (and of my choosing) that aligned with my inner compass.

All I wanted was someone to hold out her hand and guide me forward. A kind person who understood there was more to life than the dark place I inhabited.

The Path Toward Joy

My journey started with small steps to joy. I switched off the florescent ceiling fixtures in my office, installed floor lamps that redirected soft light upward, and brought in a vase of fresh cut flowers (usually two dozen roses) every week.

Colleagues dropped by my cozy space and closed the door, settled into a seat across from me, and shared their challenges, obstacles, and dreams. I listened without judgment and asked powerful questions. They mused, explored, and dreamed, and left my office feeling lighter, focused, and hopeful.

I felt better, too.

I immersed myself in mindfulness-based stress reduction, meditation, yoga, therapy, and a small supportive group of women who helped me nurture the creative spirit within. I also sought mentors who created a safe space for me to experiment, learn, and grow.

Digging deeper, I supplemented this personal exploration with a 200-hour yoga teacher training, 100 hours of life coach training instruction, and a 240-hour intensive certification program in Positive Psychology. And I dove into Mindful Self Compassion Core Skills Training with Kristin Neff, PhD and Chris Germer, PhD, and Coming to Our Senses 4-day silent retreat with Jon Kabat Zinn.
